Course description and prospectus:

The course consists of nine modules. Students will be awarded the full Diploma upon successful completion of all 56 assignments.

Each assignment will require at least 2 hours of reading and research.

Students will be required to do 5 hours of voluntary work each week as an essential component of the course. This will include practical work in local churches, street witnessing, residential home visitation, prison ministry and evangelistic outreach.

Pastor Alex is married to Charlotte and is the founder and senior pastor of Victory Christian Centre an exciting and dynamic Assemblies of God congregation in the city of Glasgow. Alex is an anointed evangelist and Bible teacher with a mandate to take the Word and tell the world that Jesus Christ is Lord! For over thirty years he has pioneered new churches and held missions and crusades across Scotland and around the world. At present he is engaged in a fruitful season of ministry in India and is about to open the Paul Gillies Bible College on the Bay of Bengal in West Godavari State, Andhra Pradesh, that will train 100 residential students each year in evangelism and church planting. Alex is a bit of a ‘book worm’ and holds degrees in philosophy and theology up to doctorate level. If he had a motto, it just might be “Go for it, for nothing is impossible with God!”

Joyson John is our college coordinator and was born in Youngsonabad, a Christian village in Pakistan founded by Dr. J.W. Youngson a Scottish missionary. Following his graduation from the University of Peshawar with a degree in accounting Joyson worked for the Diocese of Peshawar in its education department. He came to Scotland in 2005 to further his education and graduated with an MBA from Glasgow Caledonian University. Apart from his role in our college and his membership of Victory Christian Centre Joyson is the youth co-ordinator for the Scottish Asian Christian Fellowship. Outwith his busy schedule at college and church Joyson is a keen cricketer and is the captain of his team.

Pastor Charlotte Gillies has an honours degree in Economics and Finance from Strathclyde University and is also an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God in the U.K. She is married to Pastor Alex and together they lead the growing congregation at Victory Christian Centre, Glasgow where Charlotte heads up praise and worship, women’s ministry and church administration. She is also a gifted and sought after preacher with a strong teaching anointing. She loves playing golf and enjoys a good book and a good movie.
